Konnafis is a powerful, hard working, right-footed central defender  

Konnafis begun his carrier in the academies of Omonia Nicosia FC where he made his A-team debut in 1996 at the age of 17.In the following year Petros established himself as a regular and he was undoubtedly the best and most gifted defender of the Cyprus League.  

In January 2002 Konnafis was transferred to Anorthosis Famagusta FC for a record transfer fee of 600,000 euros. However, due to financial problems, Anorthosis Famagusta had to release him the year after and Konnafis saw a good opportunity for his carrier to join AA Gent in Belgium.  

In June 2004 Petros returned to Omonia Nicosia FC.
